Hi Mrs Skint

I sent an e-mail stating what I want to offer.

Ip came back and said that i could not offer a final and full settlment becuase my IVA agreement said no modifications in 24 months, how ever Melaine as spoken with my IP who is now trying to get this removed from IVA agreement so he can put the offer forward.

My friend who is going to give me the money will have it available next month, but i get the impression it can take several months to get an answer, which makes me wonder if by the time i get an answer, two years might be up anyway.

Can any one answer this question, if i have made a full and final settlement now and it does not get accepted till December, does that mean I can reduce my offer as i will made another 6 months payment in to my IVA?

James - you can change your offer at any time during the period prior to its acceptance by your creditors.

well its been a rocky 2.5years with ups and downs and thank god it is a relief it is over.

i put forward the offer on the 15th April and it was accepted yesterday just to give u all an idea of how long it took.

i spoke to my IP yesterday and arranged to send in a cheque he advised my first priority when the chq was cleared was to get a credit card to build my rating back up... i understand what they are saying- but i dont think i want a credit card ever again. in fatc the thought scares the hell out of me.

it has been struggle and ive felt like giving up at times, but im so glad i did it now. i think i nearly 4got the reasons why i did it in the first place. however it is now quite clear! It was the right thing to do!

i agreed to pay back £16,500 over 60months, i have paid approximately £8000.00 into the IVA - i was told to offer as close as i could to that sum. i offerd £6000 and it was accepted. most of my debts had been sold to max recovery- so i dont know if this had any impact on the decison.

Thankyou every one for your good wishes and thankyou to melanie and john tegg and andy for dragging me through the hard months. I only wish id of found this forum BEFORE i took out my IVA

and for anyone who is still in the IVA and struggling... i know how it feels keep at it - 60payments is a small part of life. imagine how much enjoyment u can get after all this is over. xxx
