Thank you DFD. My F+F was accepted today. Had to as for early termination as I had to relocate abroad and do not earn enough to continue my payment. Thanks to the fact that I paid in already almost the initially envisaged amount my request was approved. Finally totally debt free. The team from Debt Free Direct were brilliant- I can highly recommend them. They were supportive through all the five and a half years and their conduct was fair and professional thoughout.
Surely I will not get into a situation like this before.
I am very relieved and happy.

Great news!
They took a settlement with only 6 months left??
Did they not ask where the money come from too?

They would have asked and you have to provide proof, it's all to do with money laundering.

My F+F was that my last payment was sufficient to satisfy the creditors. There was no additional lump sum involved.

Finally received my certificate of completion. The nightmare is over. Thanks to DFD and the Coop bank and their cashminder account. One lesson learned: If you cant afford to pay for it right away - you can probably not afford it at all. I have noticed that after 5 years of austerity I am still very careful with spending and managed to save actually quite a bit in the last four months. I am definately not going back to my old wasteful years of spending beyond my means.
