I'm absolutely fuming i have just received a call from CS at DFD regarding an email i sent to my IP regarding this damn PPI business as i was concerned that i have knowingly and wittingly signed for this so it didn't sit right with me signing to say go ahead and claim. The girl on the other end of phone has informed me that ' they will have already done some work and it would appear that there is some to have'! Firstly isn't that a little underhanded? Why have they then sent me forms to sign if they have done this already? When i asked the question as to who gave authorisation i was told that DFD did so my next question was 'then why do you need me to sign!' I'm really not happy and i have to say i'm somewhat disappointed to that an email i marked for the attention of my IP hasn't even reached her and nor will it do as i was politely informed that was why the customer careteam were there. It seems so unfair that i feel i'm being pressurised into doing something that doesn't sit right with me, i haven't got the answers i need and that possibly by not complying could come back on me!
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

Orchid, I would be the same as you, there is a lot of this PPI claim going around at the moment. Maybe Declan can pick up on this and give his take. Not being a DFD customer or knowing anything about PPI, I realise I'm not much use. xx
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Hi Lesley, thank you for that, it seems this is a problem that isn't going to go away and when i'm possibly so near to finishing i want to try and do everything right. I'm worried that if i don't do this then when it comes to the variation meeting regarding the fact i can't release any equity as there is non this will be held against as i haven't tried to raise funds that may or may not be there. I have had several companies over the last 9 months contact me regarding this and have just turned them away stating i don't want anything to do with this but i found the young lady very unhelpful and trying to get to an expert is impossible. Thankfully i have support from people such as yourself and others on the forum to fall back on. xxxx

Declan is on leave this week but I will email him this thread as he did say he would be monitoring the forum.

Thank you Jan i know that there are probably many more DFD customers in the same boat and maybe this should be put high on DFD's agendas as it is worrying. xx

Hi Orchid5 - I know it feels uncomfortable that you are being pressured to do something that doesn't sit right with you but I guess its now in the legal hands as part of what could be available to creditors. If you knowlingly signed up to it and that is clear in the claim then chances are the claim will be rejected anyway. It does sound like it could have been handled a little better with you from a communication point of view. Keep us posted how it goes.
Good that Declan is monitoring the forum on his leave but surely there is someone else that could do it in his absence to give the guy a break - he deserves some time out!

He said he was but I've just emailed him and his out of office has bounced back to me so hopefully he'll pick it up next week.

I would imagine if he said he was looking at it he'll still pick it up even though O.O.O is on - I think he has a soft spot for the forum like we all do so its hard to completely stay away if you still have access to a PC!
Just a shame DFD being the size they are can't have someone else available too so it doesn't all fall to Declan.

He does a stirling job, as do all of the professional experts on here.

I'm one of the people who is being strong-armed into making a claim. I see the legal aspect of realising monies for creditors and correcting claims but the approach has been entirely wrong. If anyone wants me to sign over power of attorney, I deserve a phone call and an explanation!!! The way this has been communicated is all about ease for the IVA provider and their cold letters have caused an awful lot of stress, anger and upset. From reading posts, it is also clear a lot of people haven't been told why it is important PPI is reclaimed in enough detail. It is almost incomprehensible I could be asked to sign over power of attorney to someone I have never had any dealings with and whose name I don't know!!!

I second that. I also agree that Declan should be allowed to take his break in peace. Maybe DFD should consider having another representative here before the poor guy has a nervous breakdown !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I quite agree Foggy and perhaps DFD need to look at improving customer services as we all want to do the right thing. Hey ho we shall see, many thanks Tina for your sensible posting but then again you are from Mels team and how i wish i had chosen this lady.

I hope you can get this sorted asap orchid. I would be having one serious paddy with lots of feet stamping if I were in your shoes!!!
I agree that Declan is one of a few IPs on here who deserve a massive pat on the back from the companies they work for as they seem to turn a crisis into a manageable situation with just a few postings.
Well if he is taking a quick peek on here whilst on leave hopefully these lovely posts will give him a smile.
