I always liked Scottish Power as you can do eveything online and give meter readings anytime which you can manage in a way that if you know you are going to be broke for a month or so you can delay the next 1/4ly bill by creating a bill after one month if that makes any sense..

I doubt it does cos i just seem to talk rubbish these days [:p]

I don't think British Gas would have us as I got sick of them fobbing me off over a bill. I well lost it in the end and wrote a really long letter with about a million questions in it.

Scottish Power have always been allright before this year, now they are mega expensive but reading your posts it seems everyone is in the same boat.

Animal - I think this whole IVA procedure turns you into a jibbering idiot so you are forgiven if you feel you are talking rubbish lol!

I thought Scottish Power were quite reasonable and definitely still the cheapest, well they are for me still anyway....

Mind you, reading what some of you are paying I think being single in a one bedroom flat is the way forward as I'm paying £46pm for both gas and electric unlike your crazy £138 pm and thats after all the increases too..

As for being an idiot... .i think i've always had it in me ;P

Me too re the idiot!

I might as well live in a detached. I actual live in an end terrace but the guy next door is about 88 and does not have central heating so I suppose we switch ours on and heat his house to as well as the garden at the side.

I'm sure he sits with his hands on the wall when the radiators come on.

I would quite happily sit in my coat but we have a 9 yr old and he was very distressed when the boiler broke, poor mollycodled sole.
He couldn't concentrate and everything was an effort, I thought we were going to end up with social services down as he kept telling school how cold he was. Fortunately I had spoken to the teahcer and explained the situ. Kids can get you in so much trouble lol!

a load of my women mates reckon my bill is only small cos "i bet you are a typical bloke who can sit in the cold" hahaha!

Quite lucky really as I don't really feel the cold to be honest.

It's a nightmare though because everything is becoming so expensive. :o(

I'm contemplating emmigrating from the UK for a while just for a change even if prices are going up elsewhere.. All a bit scary though when you can't speak the language and stuff though.. But could be sooo much fun

We have had the same discussion today at work re the emmigrating. You would soon pick up the lingo, me feels that you are not that green really - you just like everyone to think you are!

I agree with your friends too men as a rule can stand colder temps than women. Where there's no sense an all lol!

lol

i'm thinking of moving to.... and loads of people think i am nuts... .Not America, not Australia, not Canada...but....the Czech Republic :o)

Got a load of friends in Prague, it's such a beautiful city, the beer's nice (and cheap) and .....

Salary might go down by 50% but the standard of living is still better even with me having to pay my iva out of that.. best thing is with the euro/cz crown getting stronger it costs less to send the same amount of money lol

i wonder how that would work in iva terms.. same money but exchange rate means slightly better off... i wonder how/if theyd measure that...

I think they would measure it, they measure absolutely everything else.

Czech Republic certainly a 'different' destination.

I too wonder how the IVA would work?

I take it beer is quite a large feature in your life...........

beer? not really although i am realising i've mentioned it in a few posts hey lol .

I might ask that question re my iva. if my salary is static but the exchange rate makes me slightly better off would they just ask for a bit more at year end etc.. hmmm

Prague is so beautiful :o) , have you ever been? The girls are quite nice too.. ahem.. hush my mouth lol

Anywhere is probably better than here these days . So sad to say that too :o(

I would ask - how far into IVA are you?

As for Prague alas no not been and notlikely to go in the next 6-7 years (all being well) Can't believe I put that in the same sentence, hey oh.

I did think that women may feature somewhere in the equation bu didn't like to say cause I'm a quiet kind a gal who keeps her opinions to herself - NOT!

Good on ya - if it's possible and it is what you want you should go for it.

Your right, it's the pits here nowadays - I sound about 70 don't I. (sorry to all the 70yr olds, no offence intended).
When I was a lass you could buy 2 mojo's for 1 pence lol!!

We're trying to switch to Southern Electric but since Dave filled out the online forms we haven't heard anything. He's going to chase them next week as we really need to get this sorted out.

lol

i remember the "old" days too and i'm only 31 lol.

Yeah the girls did come in to it a little ;o)

lol @ quite girl, keeping opinions to yourself. The best way to be in my opinion!

Prague? Well, i think it's the most beatiful european city and i've been to most of them.

Somewhere for you to go to celebrate the end of your iva hey ;o)

Have a fun day :o)

Would absolutely love to visit Prague but can't see that happening in the foreseeable future!!!

In response about gas/electric bills - eon tried to hike ours up by over £40 so i rang them saying we afford to increase by £10 as we are in an IVA and have to live within a strict budget and coupled with the fact that we are moving out in July!! They are switching us to an on demand billing system (every qtr) so hopefully when we move we shall re-hook up to monthly direct debit!!
