Hi my IVA ended 3 years ago and has been off my records for over 2 years. I've since been able to apply for an overdraft and a credit card (to help improve my score) I've checked my credit scores and they are good experian is 968. Can someone advise me on getting a mortgage do I have to say I've had an iva?
I thought that would be the case, I've read on here that lots of high street lenders won't even entertain the idea of giving a mortgage to anyone who's ever had an IVA its quite disheartening.
Hi,
Yes, if asked you will have to declare this always.
There are lenders who do not ask the question though. Find a broker who specialises in these types of mortgages

I agree entirely with Ryan, you should always disclose the IVA if asked the question. Although many High Street lenders have a narrow-minded view of ex-iva-ers, you should stand a fairly good chance if you approach the right lender. It's a matter of presenting your application correctly to the right one and taking into account your very individual circumstances.
