Just wondered if anyone could clear up my marriage query - I've read somethings online but wanted to clear it up a bit.
So I'm just a year into my IVA, I live with my long term partner and have done since I started the IVA. He is nothing to do with my IVA. We split all the bills in half which is reflected in the IVA. The house and mortgage are all in his name.
We decided we finally are ready to get married, and the marriage will be funded by our paretns, hopefully next june (so I'll be a year and a half into my IVA)
Will my IVA be affected by getting married?
My OH is also worried that at the end of the IVA becasue we are married the creditors will want some of the equaty in the house - would this happen?
Many thanks for your advice
Lauren

Hi
Your IVA payments will be unaffected as you are all ready living together so your costs will remain the same.
Is there an equity release clause in your current IVA ? if not then I doubt your creditors will expect any equity in the final year as you will probably not have acquired a beneficial interest in your partners property.
