Welcome to the Forum Sweet Cheeks,

Who are you being hounded by? Hopefully not your creditors as this is one of the advantages of an IVA that it is legally binding.

So your rent is now £330?, how much more is that per month? You should let your I.P know that this has gone up. There is no reason for you to feel ashamed, you are now in an IVA thats great. You have realised your debt problem and have done something about it, there is nothing shameful about that. [:D]

Hi sweet cheeks

Please consider that you have taken the option of IVA to pay something back to your creditors, this is not an act of a stupid person but someone trying tl address a debt problem.

If the IVA is unbearable have you considered the option of Bankruptcy?? It may be a way out of this for you.

Do not feel ashamed as you made a mistake as we all have, youre human and we all make these. You must forgive yourself and find a bearable way to move on.

I know what its like to feel as you do, I didnt want to die, particularly but living was so hard. I realised that life is much more important than money, or the lack of it, in my case.

Your loved ones and family will be deverstated if you take this option, they will not be saying now sweet cheeks is gone, we can get on with our lives, talk to someone, today. Your doctor, feelings of suicide is an emergency.

You are not alone in this, find the will to try other options before you decide to give up on life.

You have nothing to be ashamed of, post back and let us know exactly what the problem is to see if there is another way for you.

Hi sweet_cheeks really you have NO reason to feel ashamed.

As a mortgage broker you wouldn’t believe the state I see some people get into with debt with absolutely no intention of paying it back.

You have taken the right steps towards getting your life sorted – just think in just under 5 years you are going to be able to have a new lease of life. Be proud of yourself you have done the right thing…

If your rent has gone up, can you not get your IVA payments reduced?

Hi sweet cheeks
You've come so far, please don't give up now. 5 months in and things should be getting better not worse. Have you spoken to your ip with regard to the increase in rent?
There is always another way and you are not alone. I couldn't see an end not so long ago and felt like a complete failure. I took it one day at a time and it's only after a few months into my iva that i'm adjusting and feeling more positive about the future. With a lot of thanks to this forum I might add!
There's always a way through, you just have to keep fighting.

Hi Sweet Cheeks, please don't feel a failure - you're not. You have taken steps to do something about your debts and you can be proud of that.

Speak to your IP and ask to complete another income and expenditure form with a view to having your payements reduced. If your IVA cannot be reduced then maybe you should think about BR. I was in an IVA for 4 months and I couldn't afford the repayments. The only option to me was BR, which was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Good luck, and please let us know how you are getting on.

Our rent has gone up by £330 a month. We were told that we get avaluated every year but does that mean that our payments could go down as well as up ?
