Paul

please don't worry about callers to your home, I had them, it is not as bad as you think, the man was ok, not a thug, he was fine, human even. They cannot enter your home, they are as nervous as you, they don't know who is going to answer the door to them too!

You have made a good decision in applying for an iva. We were accepted at 34p/£1, we had your worries, but fate will see you right, just have faith in the IP.

iva approved. 5 down 55 to go

got everrything except the valuation for the house(I'll contact an estate agent on monday and get that in the post too) in the post friday night, should be with cleardebt on monday. the calls have already started and my wife is scared to answer the phone, spoke to bt and changed the number (very helpfull). feels very strange at the moment, hoping and praying that all works out ok. With a second part time job how much can be earned before it is taken into consideration? does this matter if the work is through an agency and is dependant on my first job hours?
As ever, thank you in advance for your help and advice.
Paulf

My wife went through exactly the same as yours is now - try not to let her if you can (easier said than done) I think David M is like Melanie(Mine) - he does not hang about. Worry is a nightmare - I have a "thing" about HSBC - Melanie tells me time and time again to stop worrying - David M and Kaillis3 say exactly the same - but just can,t help it so I know exactly what you are going through. I wish you all the very best of luck - partciularly your wife - mine is still on medication for anxiety

Hi Paul,

Any income you have will be taken into account when sorting out your disposable income, so if you get a second part time job, you will have to speak to your IP and let them know how much you are earning.

Your wife should be able to answer the phone now without worrying about who is on the other end!

Just got a call from BT business calls for GE Money, aparently our new number does not come into force until Tuesday morning, jsut have to keep answering the phone first for now. Never realised our much my worried, but got to keep strong for the two of us. STRESS is never good for any one... She has been so strong so far, hopefully not much longer now. Even had BT on the phone trying to get me to have their credit card, when I exxplained I'm trying to get debt free, the lady tried to sell it by saying that by paying cash, all you get is what you paid for, surely thats the point???

What a very strange thing to say! What are you going to get extra by using a credit card - other than interest and hassle if you can't pay the bill?

I wouldn't advise a credit card from BT. When the calls start for missed payments it would be no good changing your number because they would still know it.[:D]

I think the number changes are still carried out by BT staff as they own the infrastructure.

It depends - if you switched from BT to cable it would be done by the cable provider.

oh, can't get cable around here. I think BT should stick to telephones though and leave the credit cards to others.

I think they were implying that you would be covered should the item break, does not work as advertised etc. Still cash only from now on for me.[:D]
