Hi all,

To say im disgruntled at the moment is an understatement!!!.
I have signed up to Experian and Equifax for there months trial and unbeliavably they RIP YOU OFF!!! as they want £14.99 and £9.99 per month so that you can tell them about things that should have dropped your file and information about YOU!!!.
I completed my IVA in October 2013 and have decided to rebuild my credit file as we all will want to do once our IVA's are concluded but you have no hope with these load of cowboys who forget to update information and have hidden things on your file only lenders and you cannot see.
I thought i would take the advice of some of the expert posters on here and apply for a High Interest Credit Card with a Limit of £100 only, i have looked at my file on Experian and Equifax and have an 877 Rating which is pretty good and even though Experian flagged this card up as one that i can apply for was TURNED DOWN FLAT!!!!.
I mean i am over the 6 year mark since commencement of my IVA , all defaults have been removed and the only blemish i have since the IVA has dropped is unbelivably I HAVE NO CREDIT HISTORY!!! so how on earth can i rebuild it when you cannot get accepted for a Minimum £100 limit High Interest Credit Card just so that i can pay the whole balance off every month to improve it.
Now that i have been turned down it has most probably impaired my Credit Score even further Now!!!
WHAT A TOTAL JOKE!!!
There are thousands of people out there who are in Debt up to there necks,Maxed Out,Robbing Peter to Pay Paul and can still obtain Credit but us IVA'ers who have done the decent thing and paid off our dues and done the sentence are treated like SOCIAL PARIAHS from not only the Lenders but also the Credit Reference Agencies as well.[}:)]
The Whole thing is a TOTAL RIP OFF!!!.
Trying to rebuild your Credit Rating after the IVA i thought would be straight forward especially after the 6 year mark and it has dropped off your file with no defaults or CCJ's but how WRONG COULD I BE!!!!.
Might as well just GIVE UP!!!
I mean here's me with well over a £1500 now worth of savings, Have not got an Overdraft and have not been for now 6 years and cannot get accepted for a Pokey £100 limit Credit Card with 29.9%APR.
TOTAL JOKE!! Might as well put my money in a Shoebox!!!

Hi -- first of all -- cancel any memberships before they renew and bill you. Then get paper copies from the CRA's at £2 a pop. You might find that Experian or Equifax will have a Notice of Correction on file which will tell everyone you have been in an IVA, even if it has dropped off your files. Ask them to remove it immediately.

Also check that no mis-dated defaults are showing up.

You can join up with Noddle online free of charge, which will show what the third CRA holds on you.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Cheers Foggy!!!
This is so p*****g me off!!!
I thought it would be just a straightforward thing.
I will do what you say.
To get turned down for a stupid £100 credit limit Card is the Final Straw or Nail in the Coffin.
I feel more Embarrased than anything!!!!.
i have looked at Noddle and my IVA Complete is still on file and am wondering if it will come off after the next update.
This whole thing is just giving me a Headache!!
Feel like i am going around in Circles!!!.
God knows what other people on here who have completed have done about this but it is depressing me already.
I only did this to test the waters but it seems that what one company has on you the other one has not and it is driving me MAD!!!
Why do we have to have 3 companies doing this instead of one baffles me!!!.
Anyway I will not be Ripped off any further and just get the £2 report and cancel my subsciptions to these people as you are acting on information on yourself so why you have to pay for it is ridiculous and should be Free of Charge.

I got my Noddle account up to date first as that was free and assumed the others would follow. They did and the IVA dropped off after the 6 years however, one of them either Experian or Equifax had a notice of correction on and I have written to them to have this removed. Once I've done all this I'll do it all again for my husband as there is no way he will do it for himself. Experian and Equifax I only paid £2.00 for as didn't fancy paying to join as you say.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Yes I bet you are! And it could be all avoided if the IVA providers did a "what next post IVA" script
It's a shame this has happened as there's no need to test the water, the Telegraph has suggested this type of credit may do more harm than good.

In reality when your IVA has cleared from the CA’s you can apply regular credit just like non IVA punters, because in effect that's what you've become

I completely understand, and share, your frustrations. I don't think people appreciate this until you they there and feel the rug being pulled out from under their feet !

There is a guide which Lesley mentioned at

Worth bearing in mind your score is worthless(lenders calculate their own), ignore it if you can. What is important is the factual information

Whatever one has something on you the other one does not and these so called people at these agencies want you to go through a right old rigmoral and make you wait for days just to do something simple.
The whole thing is a Total Joke and you can never get a straight answer from these faceless organisations that are doing you up and charging you for the privelage !!
Total Joke!!!

Andrew right now i agree with you. Equifax place notice of corrections on your records and tell everyone about the iva despite it having been removed from the court information. You have to request they remove this ....they do remove it quickly however once asked !

We are trying to get a new mortgage deal but struggling at the minute as when we think we are all clear, we are asked to check another credit agency and find they are holding incorrect information and two defaults which have been removed from all other files .....frustrating as it is, i am not going to let it beat me !
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !

Look at my blog "All I wanted was a baby"

You know what we were told when we we're going through the iva process??

" and after 6 years your credit file will clean"

I rather foolishly believed that as if by magic that that would be the case.....
IVA COMPLETED & CLEAN CREDIT FILE.

An old bible proverb says this: the rich one rules the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the lender.

How true are those words of wisdom.

Bobbles --in a ideal world that would be the case. However, our "real" world is populated by creditors incorrectly defaulting and CRA's who cannot capture data correctly!
