Thanks guys

Went to bed early with a grotty cold and some night nurse, trouble is I am wide awake now and its only 3.50 am. What useful thing can you do this early without waking everyone up? I just made me a cup of tea and nearly froze to death, heating dosent kick in until 5.45. I could switch it on but its so noisy, it seems to shake the whole house, I shall snuggle down in bed for a bit longer, me thinks.

Good morning everyone.

Re bro in law, sister phoned he is still very yellow (liver, pancreas and bowel infection) but he is more awake and eating, so very good sign.

Dear freelili,

It is my wish that your brother-in-law gets better soon.

Have they not got a diagnosis?

Diseases of the pancreas are not common. If he is yellow it means he is jaundiced, which indicates a problem with Liver or gallbadder.

Infection of intestine alone does not cause jaundice.

Returning appetite means a good sign, that he is getting better

Ask the doctors what the diagnosis is.If not what they suspect it is?

With best wishes.
Hara.

Thaanks very much Hara

The diagnosis was a viral infection of the liver, pancreas and colon, which does not make a lot of sense to me either. It could be an auto-immune response to a virus that has attacked his liver etc. Or that the aggressive nature of the pathogen has caused some organ shut down. He is almost green he is so yellow with the jaundice and looks very ill, losing more than a stone in weight in a short time. However, he is young and normally fit and well, fingers crossed, he keeps on fighting, the doctors have been excellent.

Thanks again for you good wishes.

Regards
LILY
