Goldfish call centre in Glasgow is closing with the loss of a lot of jobs (900 I believe). Not sure how to feel. Thought I would feel smug but I don't,even though they gave me a lot of grief pre IVA, Their phone calls were particularly unpleasant, using a double whammy approach where one person speaks to you for ages, then puts you on hold, and passes you to his 'boss' who then went over the same stuff again!! They even phoned my work!! Ah well it's all in the past now [8)]
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)

Feel sorry for the people who are losing their jobs, but maybe now they will be on the receiving end of the nasty calls if they cannot pay their debts, then they will see how frightening they can be.

Wonder how many more will be doing this? Obviously a result of the national downturn in credit

Hi All

I am surprised at the closure of the Goldfish call centre, is this the same as the Goldfish Bank. I too have been on the receiving end of some of their calls and they were a mix of good and bad. I did find some of the people there able to listen. It is sad though when people lose their jobs and this is an example of the credit crunch biting along with company greed. They wwill probably ofshore it.

Cheers all

Goldfish have recently been taken over by Barclays and I suspect they will just transfer the calls to the agents they already have in their call centres.
