Apologies before I start to anyone on here who is from Liverpool, but Mercers staff spoke with the most whining Scouse accents I have ever heard! Really grated on you!

Just to make you feel better as well, I have a strong Black Country accent, and I sound as thick as pigs**t! Think Birmingham but worse![:D][:D]

I'm a scouser Kallis, but I couldn't agree with you more! To be honest, I prefer speaking to someone who sounds local, you can get your point across. X

Yes, they understand the accents and the little sayings peculiar to that area.

That's why I hate talking to overseas call centres. We can never understand each other and I do find myself losing my temper sometimes when I cannot get my point across!

Not their fault I know, but it is so frustrating!

hi tori

barclaycard never phoned me at work, always on my home number or mobile. i must admit most of the time i did answer because i like you was scared they would ring my works and i would heve been mortified! i cannot lie to my work colleagues as i go bright red and i would have just wanted to die! the only company that rang me at work was citi cards and my colleague who answered the phone thought they said city cabs, so she thought it something to do with a taxi booking, quite funny really!

Barclay Card ring me at work, I start at 9 but go in early to catch up, they ring at 8.30 so luckly I catch the call, I'm sick of telling them to stop ringing me at work, they have letters to remove the number but they still persist, the lady yesterday could hardly speak english so It took a long time for me to explain not to ring me at work. So where is there call center?

Ann

oh barb, that is hilarious !(the city cabs bit ).i was just thinking before it wouldnt be too bad if mercers rang me at work as there is a shop in town called mercers that sells furniture,so i would just say'oh yeah they keep trying to sell me a new settee!' ive also had the indian people ringing on behalf of b.card, but most of them were overly polite & just kept saying 'ok thank you very much madam'after everything i said?even when i said i cant pay you im goin into an iva' they said 'thats ok,thank you'?!?

that sounds like when you speak to 3 mobile, after everything they say - you welcome! sounds a good idea if the worst was to happen with mercers to say it is about furniture you have ordered. i know how you just dread the works phonre ringing in case its a creditor for you, hopefully you will soon be sorted and you wont have to worry. like i said out of all my creditors and there was about 12 only 1 rang my works city cars lol in the 3 months we were waiting for the iva to be set up! you will be ok hun!

thanks barb.yeah, hopefully by monday everything will be sorted then i can join the other's on here and joyfully tell the creditor's that im officially in an iva ! i am also with 3 and yes they are exactly the same.very polite indeed, although i did have an indian lady ring me from b.card at 9am one sunday morning & she was really offhand and abrupt.anyway i have been in stitches today reading people's tale's about these creditor calls.it really is nice that everyone can share their experiences.x [:)]
