I've got a Sony ereader - I preferred it as I can 'borrow' ebooks from the library and I'm not tied to Amazon.

I am refusing to read the 50 Shades books - I prefer something without all the hype and with a decent storyline!

Give me a thriller any day!

I've read all 3 and they were ok...I won't say brilliant but I don't often read so not a lot to compare too. Bit like car crash TV really you couldn't stop reading.

I downloaded the kindle app for free and the books are mainly free for me as daughter and I share library...

I love reading but mainly stick to thrillers - I like being scared by stories!

Niobe -- I was anti-kindle at first, but you soon get used to it --- and far easier than lugging books around !!

I actually get most of my books free from Amazon -- many newer writers offer them for free as a promo --- usually only for a day or so.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I did have to buy a cover for my ereader so it felt more like holding a book!

I have a Sony ereader as well, I wanted a Kindle a few years ago but when I went to buy it form Amazon it was out of stock and hubby wanted me to have a pressy under the tree for Christmas, so I got the Sony one instead.
(It was before you could get Kindle's everywhere at that point it was Amazon or John Lewis and both were out of stock.)
Love it, my only problem is deciding which books to buy as there are so many I want.I am trying to replace my Stephen King collection, so I can give away the paper copies and free up my bookcase at home, which is quite a few books, then there is my All my other favorite authors, Barbara Bradford Taylor, Cathering Cookson, Claire Raynor, the list just goes on and on...

I havent read any of the 50 shades books, does not appeal to me at all.

They don't appeal to me either. I get my books from the library although I do have some favourites in paperback of my own.

My favourite author at the moment is Nora Roberts.

I need to get one but when I look at the price of the covers I can't justify that expense in my mind.

That is how adverse to spending the IVA has made me [:D][:D]
