It would seem to be Melanie ... but I'm not sure what the connections are. I think the IVA council were/are an 'outfit' drumming up business ... which then was directed to UK Bankruptcy ... but to what extent they are directly associated witk UK Bankruptcy I don't know. I know one of the directors is a guy called Toby ... an amazingly inspirational man (Why is it that you good people in this profession are so inspirational Melanie?! I found Dorothy from McCambridge Duffy exactly the same) Whether the IVA Council are merely 'introducers' I'm not sure. But, in my experience, the guys down there have been wonderful.

When I first explored the possibility of an IVA I went with an 'introducer' Spencer Hays ... I know the advice on the Forum is not to use introducers but I can only honestly say that I am really pleased that I did ... and would advise others to do the same on the basis of my own experience. In introducing me to an IP Spencer Hays were very objective and batting for me ... when I had some original problems with my IP they mediated and selected a different IPA for me instead.

The trouble is Melanie, that not everyone out there is as lovely as you!

I am going to see if I can find out any more information to try and clarify the links between UK Bankruptcy and the IVA Council ... as i would like to try and clear their name on the Forum

UK Bankruptcy and the IVA Council are registered to the same person - http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TO ... Bankruptcy - hardly a glowing recommendation, but take as you find.

I agree - there has been too much bad press about this company - caused by their own marketing approach I hasten to add which has sought to discredit my own profession - but I am sure for every complaint there are a number of happy customers.

IPs also receive a fee Andy [:)] There are very few professionals who work for you free of charge [:)] The 'fee' I was charged enabled me to keep my home and my sanity ... well worth it

I think that Melanie is right ... the choice of marketing tactics may well be wholly questionable ... but then, at the same time ... we know ourselves from this forum that there are some people that may not have been the very best candidates for an IVA ... I think one of the biggest problems is on the interpretation of the word "mis-sold" where the IVA Council are concerned.
