Have just had the good news I have been waiting for from Claire that my IVA proposal has been accepted!
Am so grateful to Claire, Mel, Tina and Amie for all their hard work in getting the proposal accepted. Meeting was set for 10.30am and literally at 10.30am (according to my phone!) I had the first good news call and a follow up just now following close of meeting!

Am so relieved to start this journey, albeit I still feel emotional and guilty about finding myself here but I now know that I am doing my best to put the bad situation as right as I can!

No modifications to my payment either which is also a huge relief!

Now to tackle ACCA and hope that I can receive some equally good news from them that wont result in my career being jeapordised!

HUGE Thanks again to Claire, Mel, Tina and Amie for everything!!! And to this forum also, which has been a god send the past few months!

I have spoken to professional standards at CIMA and had an email that said email them details and thats it, and she did not see why it would destroy a career. Also she said that there were other members who had gone through similar in this economic climate and have come out the other side.....I know its still a worry though

So pleased for you this morning Lisa. Even I had a bit of a sleepless night last night, I will confess! You really do deserve this result, after a tricky year, and I am sure the ACCA will see that you are being very responsible to your approach in managing your debts. Make sure you have a glass of fizzy stuff tonight!

Thanks Mel, I can't express how grateful I am to you and your team! I would recommend your firm in a heartbeat!

And..... More good news! I have emailed ACCA today and response was as follows:

"Thank you for your email below.

There is no immediate impact on your membership of you entering into an IVA.

However, should your IVA fail (which I hope does not happen) and you become subject to a bankruptcy order then you would need to notify ACCA within one month of the event and ACCA's Admissions and Licensing Committee would need to consider your eligibility to continue to remain a member. If you fail to notify ACCA then you would automatically be removed from the members register."

So, as I am adamant I will not fail my IVA it appears there will be no impact on my career!

This has to be the best friday I have had for a long time!

Hope this reassures you also Ox!
[:D]

Please try not to worry too much Ox, I know its easy for me to now say that today and empathise with you completely as I had all had that worry at the beginning and felt there was nowhere to turn but you have done the best thing in speaking to an IP and getting the ball rolling (and finding this forum), its possibly the hardest part to pick up the phone. I thought my situation and the background to my debt was DIRE (gambling) however Mel and her team managed to get my IVA agreed so you can put your faith in the fact that Mel will do her utmost to help you all the way.

Please try not to worry too much about CIMA either, I understood that they are potentially the most lenient with their approach to members in IVA's so hopefully my news from ACCA today can put your mind at ease a little.

Good luck Ox and I look forward to hearing your own good news in due course. [:)] x
