Oh no Lily,...I am so sorry to hear of your loss of little Syra..I'm glad to hear she didn't suffer though, and at least the driver had the decency to stop, sadly not all drivers would nowadays..Although her life was short lived, you rescued her and gave her so much love, cuddles and you cared so much for her in those two years that I hope you can all take some comfort in this fact....Thinking of you all and sending you a BIG hug...xx

Sorry Lilly only just caught up with this thread, I'm so sorry to read this but what a lucky cat to have found someone as obviously caring and loving as you to have two years of unconditional love from, run free Syra xx
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks everyone, we had the best day today. We were so behind with the loss of the cat and everything, we were still wrapping up presents at 12 and they were all coming at 1!. We also had to pick some up from a nearby town as no buses on Sunday here... The two outlaws (my ex hubby and his sister where not on speaking terms) I didnt know this when I invited the sister out law. We get on so well and she so wanted to meet my monster munch. It was also my Mum in laws 80th today (her party next week) so we got her a cake too, we had our dinner in the pub. Actually we livened the whole place up. There were 14 of us plus a high chair and baby. I had to take the orders and ask them all to hold their hands up when I called their dish so I didnt leave anyone out. Everyone had a fantastic time, the weather was great. We managed to blag a bottle of chamapne off the hotel. (isnt it amazing how you learn the powers of persuation when you have fallen out of the frugal tree?) Anyway, it was great, I am feeling much better now, I was so worried about today I wasnt sleeping but it couldnt have gone better.

Thank yuou all so much for the kind words and the hugs, they really did mean so much to me, on a dark night in a dark place, you know what I mean anyway.

Thanks again

Lots of love
LILY

Sounds like a wonderful day Lily. I am so glad you enjoyed it.

Lily sorry I didnt catch this thread earlier I have caught up in my own world of problems.

You have my sympathies for the loss of your beloved pet,she is in a much safer place now.

I prefer dogs to cats but thats partly because I couldnt have a cat as I am allergic to them but also because I wouldnt be able to sleep at night unless the cat was in and would hate to think of a cat being run over and me not know about it!!!

RIP Syra

(chances are my wee dug will be chasing her around up there!!!)
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Thank you so much. My friend has sent me this and its made me blub my eyes out. I wasnt sure if I should share or not but I think its really quite beautiful so why not?

Mummy please don’t be sad, I didn’t know any pain
I was quickly taken and I am so sorry that you were so shaken.
Mummy, I didn’t know that I would be leaving
And I needed to say thank you
I was blessed the day you found me
A tiny newborn kitty baby
You gave me life and called me your Syra
Please don’t be sad mummy, I didn’t die, I am only sleeping.
What more could you have given me mummy?
You cared for me, let me run free, made me me.
I knew the kindness of such caring hands
And I saw heavens beauty in those loving eyes
Mummy, please don’t cry, I didn’t die, I am only dreaming.

Did your friend write that poem Lily? It is beautiful, and I think very aptly sums up the relationship you had with that ***** cat. Things like this are so more important than worrying about debt, aren't they - I am so glad you shared it with us.

Hello

Yes Melanie she did put those words together for me. She isnt really a cat person and had a funny relationship with the babies. She kept saying to me, why are you staying up all night feeding them? You must give them to the RSPCA etc. Then she would laugh, I know youre not listening, you are too mad and crazy for your own good, you live in a world of furry bunnies and rainbows and I dont suppose I shall ever drag you out of it, or if I would want to. She helped me so much during that first few weeks when I was a kitten feeding machine. She is an English teacher and loves words but I wasnt expecting her to do that for me. She said if that cat could come back it would say thank you.

Its made me feel so much better too, I read it to my son last night and he said, thats what Syra would say. She had 100 per cent of what she wouldnt have had if you hadnt tried to save the babies.

We had taken down our front fence the day Syra was killed and I felt that it was my fault as perhaps she was unsure of the boundries. Although the man did say she came from the field the other side of the road.

Although I am sad that Syra has gone, I can draw a line now knowing that I did do my best and she did have the best that we could offer. She didnt suffer and will always be in our hearts.

Thanks to everyone who has replied with a kind word here, it has meant a great deal to me.
