After some chasing I got an email from Aperture telling me that my IVA is now complete and the certificate will be with me soon. What a fantastic feeling, from Dec 2011 until now it’s been a long time but looking back it was absolutely the right thing to do and life under an IVA has been pretty much fine. Like Foggy we started with RSM who were good with us then found ourselves “acquired” by Aperture. We had reservations as we’d specifically avoided the factory firms but overall they’ve been good. The Equity release situation was a bit sneaky by them and we could easily have been suckered into extra payments but we stuck to our guns and dealt with it pretty quickly. My advice to those considering an IVA? Do your research first, choose as wisely as you can initially because you may have to live for 6-7 years with that company and most importantly, read and understand and constantly refresh yourself on your terms, don’t assume that what you’re being told is correct.

Anyway...on to cleaning up my files...thanks so much for the advice, the fun (esp in the early days) and support, I will check in from time to time just to see how things are. Thanks again and good luck to everyone going through an IVA now.
