Hi guys,

Got my date for my creds meeting today - 8th Jan.

Bit scared now. Oh well, 3 weeks to go.

Can anyone tell me what sort of time on that date I can expect a call?

Also, what if it's a no??

Ta, Steve

best of luck and it is unlikely to be no, adjourned maybe. As long as you have been completely honest.

If it is a no consider either a DMP (Debt management Plan) then try for an iva later if allowed, or at the last resort bankruptcy but only as a last resort.

The creditors meeting in respect of them all sat round a table pondering your case does not happen in reality. It is mostly all done by mail/fax and very often by proxy. This means the creditors emply a company to act on their behalf regarding the IVA.

If you call your IP 2/3 days before your meeting date they may be able to advise you as to how things are going and what votes they have recieved, but this is only a maybe. Failing that you will get a call from your IP on the day of your meeting and shouldn't be too long after the meeting time.

As Dominic rightly said, the trend seems to be adjournment pending modification or due to lack of votes. IF however it gets declined, remember it's not the end of the world. There are other solutions but you would need to seek advice from a debt professional to discuss your individual needs.

Kind Regards.

Steve,

My meeting was at 3.30 and my IP phoned at 3.45 to confirm that it had been approved. 6 out of my 8 creditors voted by post.

Little tip for you that may be worth doing...if you have an afternoon meeting...phone you IP in the morning to clarify what would happen and when you will know. i did this a 9.30 and my IP said he could give me an indication there and then.....i had already got well over 75% yes votes....so basically i knew in the morning that i was safe....saved me from worrying all day! the call at 0345 was just official confirmation.
