in the morning...no idea why, there is an answerphone message which I stupidly checked before going to bed asking us to contact them and leaving a name and number...wonder why? I'm with the Natwest and I'm more than happy with them so hope it's nothing horrible.

Now I can't sleep you know what I'm like! I keep think they're going to close my account, I've done nothing wrong I do know that there is no overdraft and I've never been overdrawn so it can't be anything like that. Once on the phone they asked me if I wanted to upgrade and they upgraded me to a cheque book account but with a Solo card still which suits me fine...I wonder now what??

Probably marketing - looking to offer free financial review to see what products they can sell!

Hope you managed to get some rest.

Oh I do hope so Angela, my problem is I see bad in everything. In my mind they've found out I'm in an IVA and will close my account etc., etc., thinking logically after 3 hours sleep if you can, you're most probably right as I'm sure they wouldn't have the courtesy to ring me and let me know first, they'd write me a letter giving me a period to find another account.

Thanks x

Lesley, just caught up with this.

I hope it is as Angela says and just a marketing thing.

Probably an account review. Every time we go into Halifax and they see how much Mr R gets paid they ask why on earth we don't upgrade the account, the anwer "we're in an IVA" shuts them up pretty quickly, but we get it every month.

Sorry only just got on, having to ferry daughter about since her car got stolen although they should have their new one next week, Parents evening tonight for my granddaughter, was lovely going and especially lovely the teacher thought I was the Mother of the 5 yr old! he he!

Anyway, it was a review I rang from work at lunchtime....told her I was happy with the account the way it was running and didn't feel they could improve on what they were offering me and she was fine with that..nice to know they care but didn't want to mention the IVA. Might sleep tonight who knows, I've got my calming tablets out again tonight to take Valerian as I do worry about everything etc., so need to be calm and get some sleep so I don't look like someone from the living dead when we meet up next week, they'll kick in hopefully in a couple of days and calm me down! x

LadyH, I've no idea why I don't sleep well, in a crisis, I'm brilliant, this morning at college 14 ESOL students no teacher and me along with my students, I sorted the situation and got on, the slightest thing in my personal life and that's it no sleep for a week or more....I'm a born worrier!

A long soak would be nice but alas no bath, well I have a bath but my heating system isn't up to filling it up and can't afford to have it fixed for another 3 yrs after my IVA has finished! good job I've a leccy shower eh?

Hi
I am like you Lesley, Payplan left a message on my mobile the other week. I picked it up after work and they were shut. I got into a terrible state thinking something was wrong. It turned out to be the six monthly review just to check I was ok with the IVA I worried all night for nothing.

Great news Lesley and such a relief!

Countrygirl - I had a shock when Payplan rang me for the first time just to find out how we were getting on, but I do like the fact that they do that.

Mr R is on a very high wage...so I guess it does look odd for someone on that salary to be on the most basic account.

Pleased it is all sorted for you Lesley.

I'm on a very high wage, plus hubbys police pension gets paid into there. The account was opened prior to the IVA and they have never questioned the fact that a lot of money gets paid in each month.

Different banks clearly have different marketing policies. Lloyds were as bad when I was with them. Worse, actually.

We're not on high wages at all so doubt it's a wonder they threw credit at us (HSBC) like they did prior to IVA. Mind once upon a time back in 80's we were both earning more than we do today...a distant dream now alas things have changed a lot, pity I didn't amend lifestyle as soon as salaries changed!
