I see where you are coming from BOL -- but my indignance stems, not from ignoring my own finacial weaknesses, but from the fact that there are many not in IVA's who are sailing so close to the wind as to be a greater potential liability than those of us who are dealing with the situation.
It's sort of akin to the situation of CRB checks on those dealing with vulnerable people .... passing the CRB check merely confirms they haven't yet been caught ... not that they are whiter than white.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I agree with you...I guess it's a case of innocent until proven guilty!
In some banks you can be refused a job for having a history of missed payments. I know of someone who was called in post job offer to explain a single missed payment on her credit file when going into an investment bank!
I was a greedy person and it's my own fault I ended up here. Paid off the debts several times but ended up borrowing again because I couldn't be bothered to save up for things.
I do know where you are coming from though Foggy with any checks - you have to have been caught in the first place!
