Hi All,
Just thought I'd share the last couple of emails with you from Grant Thornton regarding CC:-
26th April received the following
Our closures department who are administrating the finalisation of your arrangement have confirmed that once the Mass Variation Meeting completes, we will be in the position to issue you with your Certificate of Completion as the administration for the case has been completed.Variation date 24th May then sent another email on 11th June asking when CC could be expected received the following response:-
Thank you for contacting us. I can confirm that your creditors meeting was held on 24 May and I am pleased to advise that your creditors have agreed to the terms of the MVM. We are now in the process of completing the final administration on your case and preparing your documents. It is our aim to have your case closed within six to eight weeks from the date of your creditors meeting at the latest. If we are in the position to issue your documents before this time we will endeavour to do so. Thank you for your continuing patience in this matter, should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact Then sent another email asking why the delay as previous email from closures had said ready to go receive this email today:-
Thank you for your email, the delay now is mainly down to the large amount of cases we are working to send out.

I can confirm that your closure report has been drafted and sent to print and post today. I estimate that this will be completed and sent to you within two to three weeks.

Why will it take 2/3 weeks to be posted if its been sent to print and post today????

I would imagine "print and post" is another "department" and you have to re-join the queue with every department change.

I'm meant to be having an update today on my closure certificate I was meant to receive by the end of June. Can we me receiving a similar email.

I am assuming they use carrier pigeons or something like that...

Had my update just before 6pm.

Despite having an email in May saying I would get my closure certificate by the end of June, and knowing that other posters on this forum who had MVM at the same time received theirs by the end of June, mine should come by mid to late August.

The distribution to my creditors "will be this month" so what will happen for a month or so? And why wasn't my distribution made when presumably other people's were?

Ah well at least I know it will happen but there are times when I wish I hadn't panicked when our money went wrong and gone with Grant Thornton

Apparently they are only able to distribute monies on a monthly run basis ... so they have told other posters
