It amazes me how all these iva companies seem to use 0844,0845,0870 numbers how are people struggiling to make ends meet supposed to pay for the calls which soon mount up its about they started providing a normal number

You can use a site such as Say No to 0870 which will give you geographical alternative numbers to the pay ones in most cases. It covers 0845 etc as well.
The 0844 and 0845 numbers are usually charged at local rate, it's the 0870 numbers that are the more expensive.

I know about that site thanks I just dont think its very helpful for the iva companies to publish these numbers and asi have unlimited minutes on my phone it would cost me nothing so I wont ring 0845/0844/0870

Maybe if we all pulled together to launch some kind of campaign against it I mean we are all trying to sort our finances out and these companies are stinging us every time we call them whats wrong with them publishing a 01,02,03 number as well

Nice idea but I can't see anything happening - we tried to get the register taken from public view and that didn't get anywhere!!

Thats true but im sure that has a place in law that it has to be viewable this is just a case of IVA companies greed

It's not only them though - most companies use those numbers these days so you cannot say it is greed on the IVA companies part. They're all the same.

Yes but all the other companies that use them are not involved in helping people get out of debt it doesnt matter all I know is I wont be phoning my iva company if they want to speak to me they can ring me may even get myself a 0845 number and make some money as well as it seems its quite legal and no one frowns upon it

I don't agree with having to pay but it is legal and we have to put up with it.
