Melanie

Karol messaged on here on Friday to contact her which I did, an email and 2 phone calls later and I still haven't actually spoken with her.

I do understand that she is undoubtably very busy with all the issuse people are reporting on here. But don't ask me to get in touch if you're not able to contact me back

I don't live in any hope. Closures team seem very nice but not exactly pro-active.

Come on Grant Thornton, I just want my case closed now. I know you CAN do it, so why WON'T you.

Karol could not possibly deal personally with all of the client queries being made at the moment, but she does have a good team who work with her and most people who have had cause to contact Karol's team via the forum have had their issues resolved.

Hi Melanie; I respect your point of view and I do understand that GT have a significant workload and that Karol herself will be busy; we all are. Sadly, however, my experience of the GT team has not been that they're really working that hard to resolve issues or close my case.

Despite my asking, they've failed to answer questions I've raised, haven't given me any timescales or indications of where in the process I am or what is being done now and next, and haven't given me any information other than 'just continue waiting'.

I've not received the PPI/charges disclaimer I was promised over two weeks ago, despite chasing and being advised it'll be 're-sent', so I have no idea what's going on, and it's impossible to contact Closures by any means other than email in spite of earlier posts on this forum suggesting that they would have dedicated telephony for contact.

I'm sadly resigned to the fact that I'm almost certainly going to end up waiting more than a year after my final payment before I can move on with my life due to these delays.

I feel sad that you are so fed up with the process and feel that you are not getting the answers you need. Hopefully Karol will understand how frustrating this is for you, and try and prioritise your case given the length of time it has taken to get to this stage. She is really a very good person, and I know that she will do her best for you.

Thanks Melanie, I appreciate your words. I am incredibly frustrated, and depressed. I thought I was past all the dark thoughts and feelings when I made that last payment but still it goes on and I feel so low again. At least now I can afford to have a few beers to help me sleep at night.

When I started on this road it was 'five years and you're debt-free'. The paperwork from the court said that dividends had to be paid and the case closed within 3 months of final payment.

Now I'm here 5 3/4 years later with a shot credit rating, negative equity, a house that's falling apart and a banger on the driveway and seemingly no hope of ever getting back on my feet or rebuilding my life.

I accept that my actions were responsible for what happened, but I tried to do the responsible thing and arrange to pay back as much as I could. To be honest now I kind of wish I'd just gone bankrupt.

Hey ho. Positive thoughts. Hurry up and wait I guess.

I know where you are coming from, 6 years and 6 months after signing up to the "5 years and you will be debt free" process I am also waiting for closure. Hang on in there I am sure it won't be.much longer now.
7 years after starting an IVA I finally received a completion certificate from ClearDebt

I think I agree with you Snoopydog.
I think I'll try and forget about it for a few months and just maybe I'll get a pleasant surprise one day.
You never know.
Final payment made Dec 2011.
