Hi,

Just got a letter in a spotty envelope, (so i dont miss it)? Was from GT asking me to sign 15 letters of authority for them to investgate on my behalf. 15!!! I only have 6 creditors! When they rang me the other week i said to the lady these are in part joint debts held with my ex wife and she will of definitely of pursued any ppi...(the woman tries to claim everything)!
I dont think there is any point fighting against them on this though. End of the day they control my life till its over. They are just trying to get back as much as possible to my creditors and i do hope this PPI thing isnt still being investigated by the trime i end next year!!!
The late closures thing really worrys me.they are preventing people starting again by delaying and thats a big worry.

Do you have to wait until it's concluded or can they issue cc in the meantime. Or as I suspect they have said nothing? Incidentally when was your last payment into the IVA?

Good luck with it, I haven't even received that yet or an answer to my formal complaint to them 11 days ago.

I have always deliberately asked for ppi's so I have never been missold one. GT know this but ignore me anyway.
Release of a statement like that of GT and Karol (I include them as a single entity because they are, she is paid to be on this forum not doing it for love) did last year will be more promises and lies while they keep the clients waiting.
And what kind of excuse is "they have taken on a lot of cases lately" if they don't have the manpower they should not take on the extra work......Simples

I have also noted some replies from obvious GT people.

Hang I'm there. I just got my CC from GT 12 months after F&F so they are beavering away. Agree its frustrating that closure team don't have phones though so its hard to contact them. Just be patient though as its totally worthwhile when it does.

This is what I don't get!. How can they be issuing you a CC whilst all the rest of us have to wait for this PPI nonsense to be sorted out? Mine's over 12 months now since last payment so we're both in a similar timeframe.Perhaps you didn't have PPI, neither did I.

But nevertheless big congratulations.

Because you asked for the PPi to be added that doesn’t mean its not been missold! the issue is not just the addition of the PPI for some its the product they sold wouldn’t have covered you for the things they said it would!

Just because you asked for a TV in Argos which said it get channels 1-10 but when you turned it on only got 1-8 you’d take it back, because it lied about what it offered! sure some of it worked...you even asked for a TV and got a TV...but it wouldn’t do what they told you it would do...therefore its ‘missold’! Also there is the unfair charges bit to due to recent changes in law and guidance on unfair charges, so there could also be this issues!

This is in no way to defend GT, from what I have read on these forums over the years and especially in the last 18 months their customer service has gone from bad to horrific, but I think its unfair to have a go at someone when you have the wrong understanding of what your accusing them off.

“Never let fact get in the way of a good story!!”

F&F's seem to close a bit quicker for some reason.

Hi all. Sorry to Hijack the thread.
My last payment to GT was May last year as a F&F and was told that CC would be within 6 months. Ahem! Just had a few calls over the past couple of days asking me to call GT PPI claim department. I have just been told that GT 'needs' to investigate the potential of any PPI as instructed by creditors. It seems that this is now a legal requirement for GT to do so. So, forms are coming out and I guess I will have to follow this through. I have no idea if there are any PPI to be claimed (had a lot of creditors)so I am also guessing that I wont or cant be held responsible for fraud? So far its taken 9 months, but I guess it will take a while longer for completion. Sigh!!

I understand that it may be quicker with a F&F but how do they get around the PPI issue I wonder? If they are waiting for clarification and about to send out forms to all of us in closure how can they issue a CC to "Alibongo"?
