If your husband had an adequate sick-pay policy in work with his employers, this would appear to be a classic case of mis-selling - so you should definately get the claims management company to fully investigate.
Purple Butterfly .. at the risk of sounding like a broken record (as I keep repeating this -- mainly due to my own shock and surprise).... I never had PPI (so I thought) and have been harping on about them finding £7k worth ... well I am now told it was £8k! Plus £104 in credit card charges
The IP Files ..... the PPI is out there .........

I'm still waiting for my paperwork but there have been a few mentions of having to give our authority for them to claim on our behalf. But I have also seen several mentions that we are in fact able to claim ourselves for the benefit of the creditors. Does anyone one know for sure which is true?
In addition whether we claim or authorise others shouldn't we get our CCs in the meantime. I have asked GT these questions but those points have not yet been clarified.
Once ( if) the mass variation goes through and is accepted, then you will get CC's if GT themselves ( via their third party claims company) are investigating and you are co-operating. They, then have control.
If you opt to handle the claims yourself, I imagine the CC will be withheld until GT are satisfied everything has been investigated / claimed and duly paid over.
Mere assumption on all points, though......

There is no reason why folks cannot use a claims management company of their choice, or submit the claims directly to creditors in their own rights, but clearly for ease of adminisration the IP would prefer to see the use of one company. I am doing the same in my own business.
