Hi I also opened a Nat West account when I first applied for the IVA. This is a stressful time in the process for your Tracey so you are bound to feel anxious. My Husband also didn't have photo ID. You can use a document confirming proof of your tax coding to confirm identity with Nat West if you don't have any photo ID.

It's a way forward and hope Yorkshire bank comes back positive for you x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi, thanks for your kind thoughts, I'll keep you up to date with my Yorkshire bank application,if they decline me then I think I'm going to opt for the Co-op cashminder account because I've heard good things about them from people on here.
Right now wheres my wine lol :0)

Think banking make you wait two weeks to get account details. The other paid for account - CardOne and Secure trust are apply online and as long as you are on the electrol role and can pay the initial fee online you will get your sortcode and account number on the screen

Best of luck

Hopefully the poster will be accepted by Yorkshire Bank.

I'd never go for a paid for account when there are still pleny of free ones about.

Couldn't either afford or justify the fee.

It depends on personal circumstance, what the paid for service can offer in comparison and how reassuring the account can be. I used paid for, and am much happier to do that

If you cannot get a normal bank account then this is obviously one to go for.

We're happy to stick with a free one and keep an eye on the budget online, that way we know that we can manage the accounts online and once the IVA is over we can continue to do so.

I had an account with Think Banking for a short while and I'm sure they gave me the account number pretty much straight away.

Paid bank accounts are ok if you can't get anything else, but they don't teach you how to budget as someone is doing it for you. The idea of an IVA / BR is to rehabilitate and I don't see how having someone else managing your money is going to do that.

Good luck with the account Tracey. If you have no luck with Yorkshire Bank I'm sure you'll be ok with the Co-op. I was with them after I went BR and the Cashminder is a good account.

Co-op cashminder is a good account, would defo recommend it.

I got a Natwest account number and sort code the same day, very good to open an account with, shame I owed them £4k and had to move to Co-op [:P]

Apparently, they now need to validate with RBS they said to me that two weeks is the minimum, I dont bank with them anymore as they still have that problem of paying cancelled instructions and they have a go when you change a standing order more than twice in a week
Im with CardOne doesnt allow Direct Debits but provides text services, standing orders, faster paynents, mastercard prepaid and access to paying monies it at Postoffice and Natwest
