Hi, well Ive been to Co-op bank today and applied for the cashminder account. The man that dealt with me was really understanding and thanked me for being honest about my financial situation. He said I can ring the branch on tues and they might have my account details for me by then woo hoo!!!! Ive rang my work and informed them that I will be giving them new account details as my wages are due to be paid in next fri, only for them to tell me they need 3 weeks notice to change my details!!!!!!! Surely its only a matter of pressing a few buttons? Or am I being naieve lol.
Blimey,
When I changed my bank account I just handed my new account details into the wages dept at work on the Tuesday before my wages were paid in on the Thursday (I`m paid weekly too).

Tracey73, did Yorkshire Bank get back to you regarding your application for an account with them???

Hi, The Yorkshire bank said I should hear in a week if Im successful or not, I decided to open an account at the Co op after reading all the positive comments. My hubbys company are great they just need to kno his bank details on the day they are processed, I cant believe mine is going to take 3 weeks!! My other option is asking my work if I can have a cheque for my wages this month and then give them the new bank account details in time for Junes payrun. I really dont want any money going into my HSBC account.

Glad you are getting sorted Tracey - don't blame you with HSBC though. They used to keep taking out our loan payment each month and then put it back in because we were overdrawn on the overdraft and then charge us for the priviledge!!

Hi, Cheers Harpic, HSBC are relentless arent they, I dont trust them at all, Ive had numerous calls from them abecause Ive gone over my overdraft and they are badgering me as to when Im going to be paying some money in, but I cant tell them about my IVA until the other bank accountb is safe so at the minute Im stalling for time with them. Hope they dont guess somethings up!!!!!!!

They'll be used to it!!! They even tried to get us to do a managed loan - sent out the papers saying we had agreed to it and tried to get us to sign!!

Needless to say we didn't!!

Eeeeeeeeeee give me strength!!!!!! Had a call from the advisor at Co-op an hour ago saying the photocopy of my driving licence (old paper one and 20 years old) is unclear and his manager is not happy with it so I need to provide anoter form of ID. He cant accept my letter from HMRC stating Im no longer entitled to child tax credits becos it shows Im not receiving anything????????? Surely this is just to prove my address not if Im getting any benefit? So Ive now been on the phone for 45 mins trying to get thru to the tax office because the advisor said I shud ring them and get them to send me a tax coding letter as proof of my identity.Got sick after being on hold for 45 mins so I hung up, I GIVE UP!!!!!!

Do you have a passport Tracey? If not then I'd go in again with my licence and demand to speak to the manager!!

Surely they could accept utility bills? They will have done an electoral roll check anyway.

Hi, no unfortunately I havent got a passport and utility bills are in hubbys name. I feel its just one stumbling block after another at the minute. I rang the tax office at 6ish so maybe a busy time for them so I'll ring them again in the morning, might be a bit quieter then.
