I am after help...I made my last payment to GT November 2010 and am still waiting for my closure certificate. I have made numerous phone calls requesting call backs but have have been kept waiting for weeks. at this point i have had to call back and start from scratch again trying to ascertain what is going on. I made all my payments on time and was informed that the distribution of funds has been messed up and that it takes time to resolve this. i have then been told that i have to wait due to a mass variation and then PPI. Can anyone help. I have even gone to the financial ombudsman only to be told that they can do nothing with regards to IVAs. i had a reply from the supervisor stating that it may take at least another 6 months and when i have phoned for updates have been told to just wait and wait and wait.

November 2010? nearly 3 years since last payment! That in my humble opinion is way too long and so unfair on you!

I have no advice for you which I'm sorry about but keep hassling them and tell them your life is practically on hold until you're out this IVA! It's often he who shouts loudest. I sincerely hope this is fixed for you soon. x

Thanks Lesley, I will admit that i am loosing the will to live. Luckily i am in the military and they are happy to house my family at the moment but i am due to leave in 2 years time and the rate it is going i will never be able to get my credit rating back up to where i can get a mortgage or even pass a credit check to rent a house. I am unfortunately reliant on ONE piece of paper to move my life forward and even then will have to wait a year for my credit file to be cleared.

You have passed the 6th anniversary of the start of the iVA, so, as soon as that certificate is issued, the IVA will drop off -- you won't have to wait another year. Small comfort, I know, but it will happen !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

As Foggy rightly points out it's the certificate you're waiting for and then everything should repair itself (maybe with a a little help from you). I maintain though the time span of when you started and now is way too long and that's before the certificate is released to you...I'd definitely be feeling the same as you.

I've answered this on your other post, but I do think that you need to escalate this within the GT complaints system. Have you tried making contact with your IP directly about the delay?

Do escalate the complaint and hopefully see a resolution.
