I've made my 18th IPA payment today, so only another 18 and I'm done! I feel like I'm on the home straight now. Although I'm not actually bankrupt any more and I've now been discharged for 8 months, it'll be nice to get the IPA out of the way.

To help me get through it I broke it down into chunks - 6 months, 12 months, now halfway. The next goal is the 24th payment in May...

We are also on the downhill slope now 31 payments made and 31 to go. Just hoping there are no nasty shocks in the next 2 years job wise. I rely on overtime to make payments and still waiting to see if credit crunch affects my job.[8D][:)][:)]

Skip, I've only just caught this thread.

Well done on reaching the halfway point. We made our 8th payment today - still a ways to go, but getting there gradually.

I know what you mean Skip, for us I cannot believe we are over 3/4 way through our bankruptcy already, nearly 10 months down with just 2 to go until hopefully we can put all the mess of the recent past behind us.

Well today I made my 25th payment so I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now as I'm now into the final year!

My IPA will now finish in June 2010 rather than May 2010 as when it was reassessed I asked if I could miss a month if I tagged it on the end and the OR said yes.

I'm getting to the stage where I'm starting to work out what I'll do with the the extra money - the first (and maybe the second!) will be a splurge, and after that I plan to save half and have half to myself.

It must be great to know that the end is in sight and that you can soon start to plan a few treats for when your payments have finished. As a practising IP, it is really nice to read these posts, as sometimes there can be a tendancy to lose sight of just how much being in an IVA can affect your lives, and how important it is for you to set achievable goals and targets along the way. Very well done to all of you.
