I thought this was quite amusing.......warped sense of humour.[:p]

This morning I received a call from the Halifax. The lady who called sounded well happy - not! I thought here we go jobs worth! I know, I know it's their job, I wasn't in the mood. Anyway, she took me through security then stopped in her tracks asked me to wait a minute and then...................HUNG UP! I just thought charming I thought I was supposed to hang up on them?!

Later on I received a call on my mobile, the Halifax. The guy who sounded about 12 asked to speak to Marianne?? I humoured him and asked if he meant Marie....anyway he was tapping away on his computer and said sorry there's been a mistake I shouldn't have rang you today somebody has already rang, I'm really sorry. I won't ring again, he too put the phone down??

Melanie have you been scaring my creditors, cause it wasn't me??

If only all our creditors were like this hey!

How unusual! Makes a pleasant change I suppose!

I was astounded, although I haven't had as nearly a rough ride as many regarding creditor calls, this made me smile as Halifax were by far the worse!

As soon as you say your are with a debt management company they ask you what you have done that for - ermmmm well let me think - I'm skint............... cost of living, over stretching myself, and interest rates have all but killed me.

Then they start ranting, one guy said I know where you have been shopping and what you have been buying......AND????

I have admitted there has been some stupidity, I'm addressing it. I also asked him to remind me as we have very little to show for it, he shut his mouth.

I'm perfectly nice and polite to people who are rude as it makes them more frustrated as they cannot cope with the situation - they expect you to react to the situation instead of respond in a considerd way - too many training courses, where's the door..............[:I]

Hi All

i had a phone call the other day from one of my creditors, Marbles which is HFC bank I believe. They too were hostile and when I tried to explain I was setting up a DMP because they among others had voted no to my IVA application she lost the plot and started going on about data protection. I tried to explain what was happening and all she kept saying was you need to write a letter of authorisatio so we can talk to payplan, they seem to have become very bureaucratic. In the end i lots my patience told her not to talk to me like I was 2 , thanked her for her call and hung up. They have not rung since. Although, I think they have now transferred the debt to somone else.

Weird worl we live in isnt it.

Regards

Barclaycard where like that with me, they rang me twice, and then I said Ive already spoken to someone they were really apologetic and didnt ring me again.

RBS refered my debt to a debt management company, which I thought was a bit proactive to say the least!

I know I am wrong and I should be quaking when my creditors call me, but I'm sorry I can't take some of them seriously. Barclay card are the best one they constantly call me and say they need to confirm that it's ME they are talking to. I say "I can assure you it's ME as you would not just be dialling random numbers to speak to ME". Then they ask for my date of birth, I then ask them "Why do you want this?" they say "to ensure it's YOU we are talking to" I then ask them for their date of birth and they ask why do I want this, I reply so I know its YOU I'm talking to. For some strange reason they then hang up on me ?

Thank you Barclaycard
