Last line of the traditional Papal Address, roughly translated:

And may the blessing of Almighty God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, descend on you and remain with you always.

Thanks Foggy - I managed about 70% but you have helpfully filled in the gaps. The fourth form at school was a very long time away for me!

I was lucky when I did my Latin --- on the grounds that we would never have to speak to an ancient Roman we concentrated on purely written translation, and mainly from the Latin into English --- far more interesting than reciting endless verbs et al.

We also had a fun teacher, who would translate such as "Ita vero, Regina" into "Yes indeed, Queenie". And, of course took great delight in explaining that the "v" in latin was pronounced as an "almost w" --- so, when Caesar stepped ashore in Britain and said "Veni, vidi, vici" , it sounded more like his true view of the ancient Britons; "Weeny, weedy, weaky".

Must be quite something Hyperdrive. Not sure it is quite the same these days with Jim Bowen in charge ( hope that's not too disrespectful).

Ha, Foggy, no worries. When I`m ahead of you at the pearly gates, and St Peter turns to you and says "here`s what you would have won", I`ll be off in my yacht and you`ll be down below working the telephones for credit card companies[}:)]
