Hi
I know this forum is hear to help and support those in debt, and by god what a good job it does. But they all seem like questions about things going wrong and "what ifs".
It all seems like doom and gloom,is life in an iva really so bad. is there anyone out there who is happy in an iva and has a content life with a good I&E. And even has a few treats in life. Any money in the bank. Even perhaps a cheapy holiday !!!
53 down 7 to go !!
Cant wait till December 2012

Nobody posted more "what ifs" than you Caraf when you were waiting for your outcome of your proposal! :o)

Im happy in my IVA, Ive never missed a payment,i live in a nice house with an up to date mortgage,im just doing a full and final settlement and am in a very different place to where I was 2 years ago.The bad times made me learn to strive harder for the good times and it is paying off!

and best still I HAVE NO CREDIT!! I like to think im helping do my bit to save the planet by not being as materialistic anymore!

I dont regret my IVA and believe it was a cycle in my life that I had to go through and come out of a stronger, better person.

I felt sorry for people out shopping at christmas loading up their cards knowing many would dread january whilst to the IVA gang it would be a relatively normal month.

I feel my IVA has helped and was kind of like a financial trip to the Priory clinic for some much needed financial rehab!! :o)

Hi Caraf

I very rarely post on the forum but thought I would let you know that I am happy with my life/IVA....well so far touch wood :) I've been in an IVA for just over a year now and during that time have learned how to budget properly which is an amazing feat for me as I used to be crap with money (well being crap with money is what got me into this mess in the first place)! I don't have much in way of savings but have made a new year resolution to put aside the odd £20/£30 per month (budget permitting of course) so that perhaps I can treat myself to a wee cheap holiday sometime either thid or next year.

I'm so relieved that I don't have to worry about any credit card bills this Jan following what would have been my usual unnecessary bout of Xmas shopping. Wish I could say the same for some of my mates!

I'm not saying things are perfect as living on a budget (no matter how well you may manage it) you will always have that feeling of not knowing what's round the corner. However, I am definatly a lot better off and calmer than I was the long months before I decided to proceed down the IVA route.

This forum also gives me comfort. Good luck everyone!

B
Last payment made on 1st Nov 2011. Happy to be debt free!

we can all grumble about been in an IVA.

Human Nature time heals, even after been in an IVA for 6 months you can complain about, but remmber how bad it was before the IVA, if every one can do that then we are all happy in an IVA

no matter how bad money gets, theirs stll alot more important things in life
