I was fortunate never to receive such calls. Our phone has caller ID with the caller’s name associated to the number as on a mobile phone and if I don’t recognise a number, I don’t answer it. I then Google the numbers and it’s surprising how many I get from British Gas, Sky Box insurance etc. despite being ex directory and registered with the TPS.
I would imagine this is difficult if you have kids at home or friends at the time, but then again, that isn’t a problem for me as I’m a miserable sod!
We have always used the home phone whilst at home and mobiles whilst out and about and for me at work although I do confess to using the phones at work for personal calls!!!!

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.
