Somewhere we have one of those grandstand consoles, the original video game with the two "paddles" which you could guide up and down the screen.

I also have the first album I ever bought "Slade Alive" bought with a £1 gift voucher from my Aunt and Uncle in 197? happy days.

Was that the tennis game 4kids? We had one of those, then we had a chess game (could never get the hang of that) and then graduated to a Commodore 64 and spent many a happy hour playing on that.

I remember playing Frogger on our C64 -- loaded from a cassette tape. Took about 5 minutes to load and then crashed regularly !!! Couldn't save games or scores, so started from scratch every time.

That game was really bad for my blood pressure !!!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I have only told my best friend and my sister about my IVA. No-one else knows. I had a funny conversation with one of my friends at work the other day though. They were all talking about going out socialising and expensive holidays etc etc, and I revealed that I keep strictly to a budget so I don't tend to go out so much. I told her that I painstakingly stick to set amounts for all my bills including shopping, and I told her that I have little pots for everything - as we get paid monthly I divide my shopping allowance in four or five weeks and we go to the shop with cash, and once we get to the end of week 4, it's gone. We stick tightly to our strict regime. She was amazed and inspired by this. She said to me that I must have loads of money left as I am so frugal, but little does she know that my monthly payment into my IVA is £610 plus my 50% uplifts for overtime. She said that she is going to start doing this to start to save money as she fritters it away without realising.

I have learnt some big lessons from my IVA, and as we pay so much in, at the end of the three years, we won't know what to do with all the spare money we will have been paying into our IVA for 6 years! Happy days :-)

I really can empthasise how your feeling. I could never bring myself to tell anyone barr our ip and forum friends about our situation. I cant even do the frugal friends!!! I am far too ashamed. Its not easy and 18 months in I still have good and bad days. But deep down i know it was the right thing for us to do and sooo many lessons have been learnt. Stay strong xxx
