Good choice kallis3, as a native of the North East I can safely say you will not be disappointed, the beaches from Tynemouth all the way up to Berwick are absolutely stunning and the scenery inland isn't too shabby either, Roman Wall country is especially worth a visit, the city of Newcastle is well worth a visit too, as long as you are not expecting good football [:(!][:(!][:(!]
The only down side is the weather, when it's warm and sunny its great but I would advise you to pack wet weather clothes too.

It always looks nice up there, and I have the brochures as well!

Skint - I used to go to Weymouth all the time when I was a child, haven't been for a few years now though. The beach is excellent and it is a nice seaside town.
