Hi
I have the Co-op Cashminder electron card and find it is widely accepted, no fees and online banking.
Can't fault it
Regards

I don't want to go through the performance of changing my bank account again if I can help it, so for me a prepaid card works very well.

I don't pay a monthly fee, and it doesn't cost me to use it.

Thanks Jan,

I think that answers my question pretty well.

I guess I am lucky that having had advice from the good folks on this site that I moved my bank to the Co-op. Otherwise I also may of needed to obtain a pre paid card above and beyond a basic ATM card from some other bank.

Although I appreciate that, like you say, there are some pretty good ones available, which may not incur any additional feees. However I have kind of grown to like having only one bit of plastic on me now [:D]

Cheers

Andy

Had I have found this site before I had changed everything over, I probably would have gone with the Co-op, but it was too late by then as the Nationwide was up and running.

I still have my Barclays full account open, and although I know they can't take money from my account, I have been advised on here not to use it until my IVA is completed.

I cant see the point in having a predpaid card that you have to pay a fee for unless you have found you normal card to be unacceptable.

Some of them you pay to put cash on,then pay again to take it back and in the meantime whos getting the interest on your money????
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

With the Paypal one, you pay £1 to top up at a Post Office, regardless of how much you load on to it. If you top up via a Paypal account or a bank account, it is free.

I wouldn't draw cash out using a prepaid card, I use it purely for internet purchases as it's the only way I can buy anything online.

I wouldn't be paying a monthly fee for one though.
