has anyone ever had any luck at contacting creditors themselves? i've posted before saying we have decided to sell the house and rent in order to clear debt but any reduction in payments up until it is sold would be a lifeline!

Hiya
Before our IVA we had agreements with all our creditors. We paid them a set amount each month pro rata and sent them income and outgoing statements to back up our disposable income
Just ring them or send some statements to them with your offer, explaining the situation
Hope this helps
Amanda

Hi Amanda
What made you take out an IVA after contacting your creditors?

Morning
To be honest it was to get it paid up as we were paying such small amounts it would have been there forever.
Plus it stops interest going on and stops the creditors from harassing you for more money. It is a big decision though and one we thought about for quite a while before going ahead with it

thanks again. I'm waiting for a pack fro m Payplan that has a template to send but might just ring one of the biggies tomorrow to see what they say. The mortgage have let us have 2 months paying interest only while we try and sort out exactly what to do.
