Another disappointment for the kids today, due to my telephone appt with Melanie's team this evening, we will not be able to go to their school summer fayre :-(
That's on top of the fact that I could not attend sports day for the first time ever (because of work) and that I cannot afford to give my daughter the birthday party she really wants at the end of the month. Previously I would have just paid for it on credit and given her everything. So any ideas on a cheap party for a 9 yr old would be gratefully received!

We can rearrange the meeting to your convenience - please don't miss your little girl's summer fayre. My team are very flexible, and if you want a meeting at 10.pm they will oblige!

Really? Oh thx Melanie, I will give them a call. Sorting this out is a priority though, so we'll compromise where necessary....

woohoo I might have just gone up in the kids estimation a bit, I've won free tickets on the radio to see the new film Kung Fu Panda! Can't wait to tell them...

I'm sure you will have a wonderful time, and enjoy it all the more because it's free.

Somone before suggested a sleepover rather than a party, cheaper and more fun probably, dependant on how many kids are invited!!!
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

Thx plasticdaft, we have talked about having a few friends here for BBQ and then 'disco' (i'll do music!) in garden with lights. So sleepover would probably be nice after that (no drinking & driving)
