Hi
I have a joint IVA which started March 2007. Since then our IVA has been passed on twice to different practitioners, and has been with Grant Thornton since 2012. Our final payment after six years, (the sixth year being an arrangement that we offered in a variation)was paid 30 April 2013. We where told by GT that they would prepare a final review and if all is well it would go through to closure. By October 2013 they said the IVA will be sent to their closure team. As April 2014 approaches making Our IVA 7 years long we still do not have a certificate of completion, and for the past two months my phone calls to GT have been taken by a representative, who has taken our contact details and a promised call back from the closure team that never happens. Have you any idea what might be going wrong? Having an IVA has been an emotionally painful journey, and these last months have felt like being dangled over a cliff edge. Will it ever end?

Hi. GT are not renowned for speed of response, nor, indeed, speedy closures.

My experience was that, once a line of communication with a named person had been established, they were very good and very helpful.

Try contacting closures yourself by email (they don't "do" telephones in closures) at iva.closures@uk.gt.com
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Demand that you speak with the IP directly, as clearly your calls should have been returned by now, and your case should be well into the process of closure. This strikes me as if another unnecessary complaint is in the making.
