Hi,

You may not be able to get mainstream car credit but you could try these:

http://www.duncton.com/ApplyOnline.aspx

They may not be the cheapest but you are guaranteed to get car.

Can a family member take finance out for you? Dunctons are horrendously expensive.

They are, but if you can't find anything else then they are good - we have had several posters use them.

They do offer a service Jan and I understand that several forum users are customers but I feel that many people would be better off buying a runaround until they have a sufficient credit rating to get finance or a bank loan to fund a car rather than paying such a high APR for several years.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one Paul! Yes, they do charge a high APR, BUT you are guaranteed a decent car. I'd rather do that than just buy a runaraound.

We have a car via Duncton and yes the interest rate is high but it is a means to an end while the IVA stays on our credit files - it was either that or no new car !!

Give them a try and I am sure they will sort you out with a good deal !!
