Hi Michael

You have 5 kids and a loving partner. Treasure those gifts, they are priceless. Sure, kids get on our nerves, they bring laughter, joy and tears in roughly equal proportions but where would we be without them.

We all feel totally lost when faced with uncertainty, but try and take comfort from the fact that now you have faced up to the debt you are on the path to a debt free life and whatever happens, it will not take any longer than 5 years.

I have found that my kids are willing to give up just about everything as long as we have our home and our family. We are mad about ice hockey so we skimp on food, clothes and hairdressers to afford that. We don't have holidays other than trips to see my family when my mum pays for the flight across. That does not stop us from having lots of fun. A good weekend treat for us may be a trip to the park or the beach or simply an afternoon sat around the dinner table playing monopoly. Our "treat" is a bottle of pop and some crisps. The main thing for my kids is that they have my undivided attention, lots of cuddles and someone to talk to when something is bothering them. All these are free and at the same time priceless.

I wish you and your family the best of luck and hope to hear from you on 16th and in 5 years time with good news. Your life starts here, enjoy it.
