Hello all, I have had my IVA for 41 months now and have a balance outstanding of £8024. I have contacted my IP to offer a full and final settlement of £6000 which I have confirmed in writing. I have been advised that a creditors meeting will have to be organised and this will more than likely be in the New Year, in the meantime, I'm to continue making my monthly payments so if this meeting is not until January 2010 that would mean that I've paid off a further £932, (2x£466) is this correct in what i've been advised by my IP? Any advice here would be appreciated. thanks Jeff

Hi, yes you should continue paying untill the creditors meeting so you dont fall into default.

Hi Lisa, many thanks for the prompt advice. I thought this was the case, obviously with the balance being reduced while I wait for the Creditors Meeting to be arranged, hopefully this will make my offer even more acceptable as my overall blance would have been reduced by the said amount.

I totally agree with Lisa.

Good luck with your meeting.

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I would say that the offer is a little on the low side, if there is no reason for the offer apart from wanting to end the IVA earlier. If, however, you are struggling to make your payments then the offer may be very worthy. Stick with your own IP's advice and let them fight your corner on the day of the meeting.

Good luck Jeff and hopefully they will accept this offer, take care and be safe.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
