Thank you David, was thinking along those lines myself. I haven't had any paperwork though yet on the DMP and expect it to be a few days yet before it comes. That will give me time to seek advice about a low cost IVA.

I have been working on a more accurate I&E in the form of a spread sheet, basically to let me have the figures I will need for any inquiry I make but it will also become my budget planner for the future.

I think I know where my first port of call will be and was wondering if I need these figures set in stone for that first contact with an IP or is it a general conversation?
I am concerned that there may be things I have overlooked or not included etc. Guess I am panicking a bit at the thought of making the call and not wanting to mess up. Despite knowing from here that it will be fine...its still a big step and scary...lol

Thing is I like most am not looking to shirk my responsibilities, just trying to manage them better...so when practical side of me says that, I need to learn not to let the other side carry me to the corner to hide...[:D]

I will make the call....

An IP will want to know your income and expenditure (although obviously it needn't be in minute detail at the moment), so that they can decide whether or not an IVA is right for you.

Don't worry, whoever you speak to will know what questions to ask and know what sort of things to include.

We know that you are not trying to shirk your responsibilities, you are taking charge of your finances and paying back what you can.

It is a scary step to discuss it with an IP, but they will help you find the right path.
