hello everyone, i just wondered - if your IVA has been accepted and agreed, do the creditors still send you letters asking for repayment and will they still keep on phoneing or will they just deal with the company that manages your IVA?
Thank you

Hello lih

It should stop as you are legally protected from your creditors. Communication isnt their strong point, however and it takes a while for this to filter through. If you recieve letters, post them to your IP and if anyone phones tell them that you are in IVA and refer them to your IP too.

I hope this helps

Hello Lih

We have been in an IVA for some 4 months now and the calls have stopped completely. We do still get some letters through which we just send through to the IP. However these are only occasional letters, nothing like we had up until the IVA was accepted.

As has already been stated, your IVA should protect you from recieving any more calls and letters but often creditors will continue to do this. As recommended previously the best thing to do is forward these to your IP.

Great advice from Freelili!

Your IVA is legally binding on both sides, so all the terrible phone calls/letter should cease. However as Freelili stated it sometimes takes a while for the information to reach the right department.

Hope this information is of use
