Hello, my partner lost his buisness in feb 2007, and had to go personally bankrupt, we used my credit cards during the previous years to help the business along, however we were unable to loose the debt in the bankruptcy ( as they are in my name )
since loosing the business, i have left my job to have our 1st baby, so loss of income, and we ae struggling to make payments to the credit cards, and personal loan, etc.
we are constantly chasing our tail, whilst trying to keep up payments for rent & gas & electric.
this is the 1st time ive looked for advise and help, i cant go on with the constant final demand letters and phonecalls, and really need some help .
thankyou
Sam

Hi there and welcome to the forum

First of all you have now taken steps to deal with your financial situation, and that is the worst bit. You will find lots of help and support on this forum, and I would suggest that you contact an insolvency practitioner directly for more specific advice about the range of options available to you.

Do you feel that you could offer to repay anything to your creditors on a monthly basis?
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Welcome from me too.

I recommend that you visit either www.iva.com for a list of companies you can use, or click on the expert link on the left hand side of the page.

The professional experts who post on here come highly recommended, and you should give one or two of them a ring and explain your circumstances. They will advise you of all the options available to you and point you in the direction of the one which is right for you.
The advise is free.
