NatWest don't differentiate between an IVA and BR unfortunately.

We still have a full bank account with Barclays which has a few pounds in it (they are one of my creditors) and we are keeping that open so that when the IVA's conclude we can go straight back to using it.

I have a Natwest Step Account and I have found it to be a fab account, not long ago they wanted to upgrade me and I thought oh well what's the worst that can happen, they sent me a cheque book with a solo card so there are cheque book accounts out there and you never know one day if I run the account for another 18 months without a problem they may just upgrade that too.

I realise that not many of the retailers accept payment via cheque anymore but to be fair if you have a child/ren at school cheques are almost a necessity. My daughter's school always request payment by cheque even for a small amount.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Cheques come in useful for sending through the post I suppose. I used to use them for birthday presents as it's much more secure than just sticking cash in there!

I can't say that I miss not having a cheque book though.

To be fair I wouldn't need one if I didn't have a daughter at school x

We used to have to send cheques as well.

Can't remember the last time I needed one.
