hello
I am currently undertaking my yearly review with Grant Thornton.
Does anyone know what the food allowance is for a single person? It was previously £35.00 week but as costs have increased, can we increase this?
Does anyone know whether it is best to offer an increase to your IP or wait and see if you get hammered for increased payments? I have a surplus of income of about £80 a month, will they take the lot?

Make sure you spend the £80 surplus on your expenditure sheet to make life easier for your IP. Or as close to that as you can. Put up some things here and there and see what they say.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

I think you should be entitled to more for food than that, and remember gas & elec have gone up not to mention petrol, council tax etc.

IF YOU COMPLETE THE CCCS DEBT REMEDY TOOL ON THEIR WEBSITE, THE ALLOWANCES ARE HIGHLIGHTED IF YOU EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED AMOUNT. tHIS WOULD TELL YOU THE AMOUNT.

IT DOES SEEM LOW, WE ARE A FAMILY OF 2 ADULTS AND 1 CHILD AND WE GET £392 A MONTH

It should be based on what you spend, rather than what you are allowed to spend, so work out what you have spent on a weekly basis for say the last two months and the present those actual figures to your IP as part of the review process.
