As most of you know I have been trying to sort out husbands debt situation as he couldn't go into the IVA with me. I sent the income/exp prepared for my IVA to Capital one and HFC (HFC themselves and DLRS their debt department)as this has gone through the official court steps and shows how much disposable income Philip then has to offer his creditors £44 to be precise. I sent a letter explaining our situation and that he himself is ill and worked out the pro rata payments using the recognised formula. Capital One accepted. We have had no end of trouble with HFC. We have had to keep writing to DLRS with information because they say they haven't received things, we have complained about their attitude and have a holding letter from HFC which is sort of an apology saying they are looking into the situation, despite sending duplicate information to HFC themselves they keep sending letters saying we are in default and adding £15 charge on, now we have a default letter from them and at the same time a letter from DRLS saying they are considering out terms, we have now received a letter from DRLS today saying they have considered our income and expenditure (which remember Melanie is the one we did for the IVA showing £44 disposable for Philip's debts)and they say the disposable income is £199 - how on earth can that be!! Philip has now gone to bed because he is really poorly - I don't think he will be working for much longer. I have just been off with my crohns again and this whole thing is making me really ill. I can't deal with much more.
Sorry Elizabeth that your having so much trouble with HPC. Is it time for a complaint to be made to the FSA? I am feeling that this type of stress is really unecessary and surely you have grounds under the harrassment of creditors act.
I am really sorry but not suprised that HFC are loading the pressure on when youre quite obviously doing your very best.
I hope you can keep going and not let them destroy you for much longer, it really isnt fair. HFC should be hanging their heads in shame. Obviously your health is not as important to them as their money. Shame
Elizabeth - call me at the office tomorrow and we will call the person at HFC who manages debt management payments. They agreed to this prior to your IVA, and it is not fair to continue to put you under so much pressure.
I really do hope Melanie can sort this for you, yours and Philips health is the main priority now. The stress of our situation has got to me aswell but getting the help and support from everyone here has really helped me. I wish you and Philip the very best for the future and stay strong, you've got friends here. I am going to add you to my profile as a frugal friend so if you need to chat off-line for anything drop me a line.

Melanie i have to say that each time i read various threads there you are with offers of help etc, the world is a better place for having people like yourself, so a big thankyou from me for giving the help and support you offer everyone including me on this site.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
That's really nice of you to say so Orchid. Some of the points I am asked to comment on only take a few seconds of time to resolve, but the do often mean the world to the person on the other end. It is hugely rewarding for me both professionally and personally to be a part of this amazing community, and I will certainly be sticking around for years to come.
Did you manage to get anything sorted today? I think it is disgusting the way they are treating you and your hubby.
Hope it gets sorted soon. You can do without all this hassle.
