Just back from court, also had a meeting with OR at their offices. Basically all OK, the only thing that OR has mentioned that they will send a form that I have to sign to give them permission to look into my TAX affairs, what's that for?

I had to sign a form giving the OR permission to speak to HMRC. I'm not sure why though...

Skippy Thank you for kind words!

Maybe somebody else knows what is this HMRC consent for exactly? I mean I have to do self assesment for 2007-2008 & my accountant has told me that there would be 0 tax for period prior up to the bankruptcy date. So does that mean that consent is used by OR to notify TAX office of my bankruptcy or is it used for something else (in which case I would need to notify TAX office myself). Thank you

It's a standard requirement under Data Protection to enable HMRC to release details of your tax position to the OR. The OR will write directly to HMRC so neither you, nor your accountant, needs to worry about this.
