Hi,Please correct me if im wrong. I purchased a car over 12 months ago on a "Fixed-Sum Loan Agreement" with a finance company... And having nothing but trouble with it, over £800 on repairs in last 6 month. I need to sell. Im quite confused as to the differnces between HP & Fixed-sum agreements. I believe with Hire purchase (HP) that i can NOT sell the car until the agreement is paid in full... Is this the same with Fixed-sum loan agreement. I was curious so i run a HPI check on my car and to my total disapointment it has flagged up existing finance.... rearly need to sell my car but still have 2 years on the agreement. When signing x,y,z here and there i do remember at the time the sales person said the agreemant was like a loan and i could do anything with the car.... or something allong those lines. I did a little research and read that some companies put you on the HPI register to make it harder for you to sell even tought you shouldnt be on the register. Im thinking of ringing the the finance company this weekend and thought i should know the facts before i do. Dont want the wool pulled over my eyes again. Any information at all would be most welcomed

Steve

The car is yours to deal with as you wish, and the HPI register is incorrect.
